Yew Tree Primary School with KIER

 

Kier has been appointed to design and build Yew Tree Primary School in Walsall under the Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA) East Midlands Priority School Building Programme 2 (PSBP2).

The new two-storey building will replace one of the existing buildings on siteand will be spread over two-storeys and include six Infant classrooms & eight Junior classrooms, a main hall, a drama studio, library resource centre, SEN provision and ancillary teaching facilities.

Ridgwood High School with Interserve

 

Interserve was awarded the contract for Ridgwood High School by the Department for Education (DfE) to design and build a new teaching block and refurbish the sports hall at Ridgewood High School, in Stourbridge. A new teaching block to replaces one of the old blocks and in addition, Interserve will refurbish the existing sports hall and changing rooms block.

The British Sikh School, Wolverhampton with Morgan Sindall

 

This project is the creation of a new £11 million campus for the British Sikh School; a free secondary school governed by the Khalsa Academies Trust.

Plans for the new school will see the complete refurbishment of an existing four-storey building to create a modern 53,000 sq ft learning environment with capacity to eventually accommodate 840 pupils.

A single-storey canteen on the site will also be overhauled to provide a 8,800 sq ft modern dining area, in addition to specialist teaching spaces for cookery and music classes.

The completed school will also feature a separate 3,200 sq ft sports hall, built on a portal steel frame. External sports and recreation facilities will include an all-weather 3G pitch, along with tennis and basketball courts.

Newman University with Morgan Sindall

 

Newman University is investing £22million over the next five years to develop its campus in Bartley Green, Birmingham.

The programme is the next phase of an on-going campus development and follows the completion of a new library and entrance building, which was opened in 2013.

Work on the first phase of the programme will include a new, 1000 square metre, double-storey extension to provide excellent learning and teaching space, a 100-room hall of residence and the refurbishment of four existing buildings.

Coventry University's National Transport Design Centre with KIER

 

The NTDC is a centre of design excellence to support UK innovation in the transport industry and boost efforts to bridge a shortfall in essential creative skills will be opening at Coventry University in 2017.

State-of-the-art features of the NTDC, which forms a key facility for the University’s existing Centre for Mobility and Transport, include a six metre interactive power wall which allows users to explore detailed design and engineering concepts in virtual reality.  The centre will also have a projection mapping system which can cast digital images onto 3D objects below, helping designers to assess how multiple options would appear on full-scale models. 

Warwick University - Sherbourne Residences with KIER

 

Sherbourne is the newest hall of residence on the Warwick University campus and is situated in pleasant green surroundings.   It comprises six blocks, each 4 storeys high, housing 527 ensuite rooms with tutor accommodation, a management suite and an energy centre.

iCentrum, Birmingham with Thomas Vale

 

iCentrum Birmingham - a £35 million Digital Plaza development which comprises the design, construction and funding of a new Science Park, consisting of the first iCentrum building and associated buildings which have been specifically designed for target companies in the hi-tech and digital gaming sectors.

Birmingham Dogs Home with Clugston

 

Birmingham Dogs Home are relocating from their existing location in Digbeth to a new purpose built facility in the countryside in Catherine-de-Barnes near Solihull. The new Centre will provide 120 re-homing kennels, a veterinary suite and large external exercise areas with an area for dog walking. It will also include administration areas, community rooms, car parking and residential accommodation for the centre manager.

University of Wolverhampton MB Building with KIER

 

Part of an exciting campus development programme the building will offer a new science facility including state-of-the-art laboratories, teaching and meeting rooms.

Stone Road Dementia Centre, Staffordshire with Galliford Try

 

The Development is an innovative community centric project providing housing, care and support which will improve the lives of the people of Stafford. The development included a Community Hub including a community cafe, community rooms and shops along with a specialist dementia care facility and hub.

New Arley School, Coventry with Willmott Dixon

 

The Development was built on the existing infant school site and amalgamated with a local junior school offering a new school and facilities for the community.

WMG Academy, Coventry with KIER

 

This new engineering academy for the University of Warwick has three floors, an engineering workshop with facilities for bench fitting, milling and lathing. It also includes computer controlled machines and pneumatics. Pupils are able to design in the mezzanine area overlooking the workshop and then create them in the state of the art facilities below.

Silverdene Care Home, Penkridge with KIER

 

An Extra Care Scheme development that will offer a choice of 82 high-quality one and two bedroom apartments for sale, rent and shared ownership.

Longbridge Regeneration Project, Birmingham with Morgan Sindall

 

Longbridge is a visionary development aimed at delivering high quality, sustainable commercial, employment and residential opportunities and creating jobs for local people.

Grace Academy, Darlaston with KIER

 

This development in Herberts Park Road boasts state-of-the-art music and recording studios, specialist drama studios and a full-size basketball sports hall.

Abraham Darby School, Telford with KIER

 

A flagship Academy School set on a sloping site at the gateway to the Ironbridge World Heritage Site.

Dudley Evolve, Dudley with ISG

 

A new vocational learning centre for Dudley College. The building was the first phase of plan to establish a 'learning quarter' in this West Midlands town. 

Tipton Swimming Centre, Tipton with Willmott Dixon

 

The new complex includes a 25-metre swimming pool, learner pool, gym, changing facilities, dance studio and community space, as well as a landscaped urban piazza.

Theatre Severn, Shrewsbury with Willmott Dixon

 

This Shrewsbury and Atcham council project included a 650-seat theatre & concert auditorium, a smaller studio theatre, box office and 2 cafe-bars.

William Brookes School, Much Wenlock with KIER

 

This project comprised of a new school building. The form of the building incorporates a three-storey teaching block with views over the play and sports pitches to the south, with cascading volumes housing the arts centre, leisure centre and swimming pool.

Moseley Rugby Club with Willmott Dixon

 

Construction of a permanent 700 seat grandstand for Greene King IPA Championship side Moseley Rugby Club, a key part of the club’s goal is to become the focus of community sports in the area.

Fire Stations throughout the area including Longton, Loggerheads, Penkridge, Rugeley and Stone with KIER

 

These fire stations had been selected to be rebuilt under a public finance initiative (PFI) scheme. These new stations are replacing older existing buildings in the locations and will all be equipped with more modern operational facilities and have space for more community safety activities.
